PATNA: Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asserting that "as long as he leads the party, it is bound to sink further." Gandhi has been facing criticism from the BJP and other rival parties for his remarks on the government's handling of India's economy and for labeling Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the RSS as "traitors" who "attack the Constitution 24 hours a day."
Prasad's Remarks on Rahul Gandhi
Responding to reporters' questions, Prasad said, "Does Rahul Gandhi know anything else other than making such remarks? The Congress loses time and again, and its candidates' deposits get forfeited, yet one can see the level of their arrogance." He criticized Gandhi for repeatedly making "shameful remarks against India" on foreign soil and reiterated, "As long as Rahul Gandhi leads the party, it is bound to sink further."
BJP Training Camp Inauguration
Prasad made these comments at the inauguration of Patna Mahanagar's two-day district training camp for BJP workers, which was opened by party president Nitin Nabin. The training camp is part of the BJP's nationwide 'Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Prasikshan Mahbhiyan-2026'. During the event, Nabin addressed party workers, shedding light on the history of the BJP since the days of the Jana Sangh. He emphasized how coordination between the government and the organization can facilitate the nation's progress.
Tributes and Exhibition
Before the inauguration, Nabin, along with other senior BJP leaders including Prasad, paid floral tributes to the portraits of Deendayal Upadhyaya and Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Accompanied by BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi and other senior leaders, Nabin also visited an exhibition showcasing the developmental works of the Bihar government.
