Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has escalated his attack on the central government over the alleged leak of the NEET examination paper, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Gandhi asserted that the Congress party would not rest until Pradhan steps down from his position.
Allegations of Negligence
Gandhi accused the minister of negligence and incompetence, claiming that the paper leak has jeopardized the future of thousands of medical aspirants across the country. He stated, 'The NEET paper leak is a grave issue that reflects the government's failure to protect the interests of students. The minister responsible must take accountability and resign immediately.'
Congress's Stand
The former Congress president emphasized that his party would continue to raise the matter in Parliament and on the streets until justice is served. He also called for a thorough investigation into the leak and demanded strict action against those involved.
In response, the Ministry of Education has denied any large-scale leak, stating that isolated incidents are being probed. However, Gandhi dismissed these claims, citing reports of widespread irregularities in multiple states.
Political Fallout
The NEET paper leak has become a major political flashpoint, with opposition parties uniting against the government. Gandhi's demand for Pradhan's resignation is likely to intensify the debate, especially with upcoming state elections.
Meanwhile, student organizations have also protested, demanding a re-examination and compensation for affected candidates. The Congress leader's strong stance indicates that the issue will remain a key agenda in the opposition's campaign against the BJP-led government.
