Retired Tata Steel Employee Silent on Family Murder Motive

A retired Tata Steel employee, arrested on Monday for allegedly murdering his wife, daughter, and son at their quarters in Agrico area, has not yet disclosed the motive behind the killings even after two days of interrogation, police officers said on Tuesday.

Police to Scrutinize Call Records and Bank Details

Officers stated that the investigating team will now examine the call detail records (CDR) of the accused, Ravinder Prasad Singh, 61, as well as those of his wife Sarita, 55, daughter Supriya, 31, and son Ravishek Kumar Singh, 30, whom he allegedly killed with an axe and a hammer. The bank account details of the accused will also be scrutinized.

Forensic Evidence Collected

An investigating officer noted that the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has gathered vital evidence from the crime scene. Ravinder had surrendered to police by calling the emergency number 100.

Additional Superintendent of Police Rishab Trivedi said the accused was sent to judicial custody on Tuesday, but investigators will soon seek his remand to continue questioning. He confirmed that the accused confessed to the murders but has not yet revealed the motive. An FIR was registered on Tuesday.

Family Reveals Father's Anxiety After Retirement

The accused’s eldest daughter, Priya Kumari, 34, who arrived from Gurgaon late Monday night, told police that her father had been deeply worried after his retirement. According to a policeman quoting Priya, “With no house of his own to move into after vacating the company quarters and two children yet to be married, my father was anxious about the future. He hadn’t been sleeping well for the last two weeks and even visited a doctor last week.”

Singh’s elder son, Abhishek, 32, who arrived from Raipur on Tuesday, visited Sidhgora police station to see his father. However, after a brief interaction, the accused reportedly asked his son to leave.

Police Focus on Building Strong Case

The ASP stated that the police are focused on building a strong case based on credible evidence to ensure the conviction of the accused.
