Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday asserted that tribals and Scheduled Castes have been the preservers of India's identity and soul despite centuries of foreign invasions. Speaking at an event in Nagpur, he emphasized that these communities have upheld the nation's cultural essence and spiritual heritage through times of external aggression and internal challenges.
Service as Duty, Not Favor
Bhagwat stated that service to society is not a favor but a duty that contributes to one's own development. He urged people to recognize the invaluable role played by marginalized communities in safeguarding the country's traditions and values. The RSS chief highlighted that the organization's volunteers have been working tirelessly for the welfare of these communities, focusing on education, health, and empowerment.
Preserving Cultural Soul
He noted that despite numerous invasions and attempts to erase India's cultural fabric, it was the tribals and Scheduled Castes who remained steadfast in preserving the nation's soul. Their resilience and commitment to indigenous practices have ensured that India's ancient wisdom and way of life continue to thrive. Bhagwat called upon society to honor their contributions and work towards their upliftment.
The event was attended by several RSS functionaries and community leaders. Bhagwat's remarks come amid ongoing debates about social justice and inclusion in India. He reiterated the RSS's commitment to building a harmonious society where every individual has equal opportunities to grow and contribute.
