A tragic road accident in Kochi claimed the life of a 21-year-old scooter rider on Wednesday. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm on the Aluva-Perumbavoor Road near Aluva, when a KSRTC bus collided with the two-wheeler.

Victim identified

The deceased has been identified as Sharath Chandra Boss, 21, son of Shivadas, a resident of Thottumugam. The young man sustained severe injuries in the crash and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries by Wednesday night.

Details of the accident

According to police reports, the bus and the scooter were traveling in opposite directions when the collision took place. The impact threw the victim onto the road. He was first taken to the District Hospital in Aluva and later transferred to a private hospital for advanced care. However, he was declared dead at around 9:05 pm on Wednesday.

An FIR was registered in connection with the incident on Thursday. The body was released to the family after an autopsy was performed. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
