SIT Investigators Grill Former BRS MLA and Brother Over Financial Links to Deceased Producer
In a significant development in Hyderabad, Special Investigation Team (SIT) sleuths have reportedly confronted former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy and his brother Ritesh Reddy regarding alleged financial transactions with movie producer Kedar Selgamsetty, who died last year in a Dubai apartment. The investigation centers on suspicious money flows linked to individuals accused in drug-related cases.
Court Petition Reveals Details of Dubious Transactions
According to a petition moved before the Rajendranagar court seeking an extension of police custody for Rohit and Ritesh Reddy, SIT investigators referenced a specific financial transaction between Ritesh Reddy and the late Kedar Selgamsetty. Police informed the court that during the custody period, they thoroughly verified the bank transactions of both brothers.
"Several suspicious financial transactions were noticed with Kedar, Shirish, Kaushik Ravi, Arjun Reddy and others, who were identified as organisers or participants of drug parties along with Rohit and Ritesh," police stated in their official petition. The document notably highlighted that "an amount of 25 lakh was transferred by Ritesh to the late Kedar."
Timing and Evasion Raise Investigative Concerns
Investigators revealed that this substantial financial transaction occurred during the 2024-2025 financial year, prior to Kedar Selgamsetty's death. "On further questioning about the 25 lakh transfer to Kedar, Ritesh and Rohit evaded the queries without offering any satisfactory clarification," an investigator disclosed, indicating potential attempts to conceal the nature and purpose of these funds.
Background: The Deceased Producer's Legal Troubles
Kedar Selgamsetty was named as one of the accused in a cocaine bust case registered at the Gachibowli police station on February 26, 2024. This case followed a police raid on two rooms of a prominent star hotel in Hyderabad. Approximately one year later, in February 2025, Kedar died in his sleep at his Dubai apartment, adding complexity to the ongoing investigation.
Current Status of the Accused Brothers
Both Pilot Rohit Reddy and Ritesh Reddy are currently in judicial remand at Chanchalguda prison as the SIT continues to unravel the financial network and potential connections to drug-related activities. The investigation remains active, with authorities examining multiple financial channels and questioning additional individuals mentioned in the suspicious transactions.
The case underscores the intersection of political figures, financial transactions, and alleged drug networks, with investigators meticulously following the money trail to establish concrete evidence and potential motives behind these substantial transfers.
