Kozhikode/Palakkad: Three children, including two cousins, drowned in separate incidents in Malappuram and Palakkad on Tuesday.
Malappuram Incident
Adhil Irash, 7, of Cherthodi House, Melmuri, Malappuram, and Mohammed Fousan, 4, of Kaaruvanpurath House, Kuzhimanna, drowned after they accidentally fell into a stream while playing at Manikyampara near Pookkottur in Malappuram. Though they were rushed to hospital immediately, their lives could not be saved.
Palakkad Incident
In Palakkad, a 13-year-old boy drowned in Kalpathy River while attempting to save his uncle who slipped into water while taking bath. The deceased has been identified as Adarsh, son of Manoj of Peechiyachan Nagar, Kunnumpuram, Palakkad. He was a Class VIII student of St Thomas School, Railway Colony. The incident occurred around 10am at the bathing ghat near Kundambalam.
