The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has leveled serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing its workers of orchestrating violent attacks on TMC party offices in West Bengal. In a series of posts on social media platform X, the TMC claimed that BJP supporters vandalized and set fire to party premises in Berhampore, Murshidabad, and Siliguri.
Berhampore Attack
According to the TMC, soon after the BJP assumed power, its "goons" launched a violent assault on the TMC party office in Berhampore. The attack involved vandalism and chaos, which the TMC described as the "real face of the BJP." The party shared visuals of the damaged office, alleging that the BJP had shown its true colors immediately after coming to power.
Siliguri Incident
In a separate incident, the TMC accused the BJP of crossing all limits by setting its office in Siliguri on fire. The party claimed that the BJP is "consumed by a thirst for destruction" and criticized what it termed as the silence of "Godi Media"—a term used by critics to describe media outlets perceived as biased in favor of the ruling party. The TMC asserted that such destructive tactics reveal the BJP's true autocratic nature.
Political Context
These allegations come amid heightened political tensions in West Bengal, where the TMC and BJP are key rivals. The TMC has consistently accused the BJP of using strong-arm tactics to suppress opposition voices. The BJP has not yet officially responded to these specific allegations, but similar accusations have been denied in the past.
The incidents have sparked a war of words on social media, with the TMC calling for accountability and the BJP dismissing the claims as politically motivated. The West Bengal government, led by the TMC, has promised to investigate the attacks and take strict action against those responsible.
