Truck hits auto near Gurgaon, 2 women and boy die

Gurgaon: Two women and a three-year-old boy were killed after a truck collided with an overcrowded three-wheeler from behind when it braked for a speed breaker near Kanwarsika village on Sohna-Nuh Road early on Saturday. The vehicle, which was meant to carry goods but was packed with 14 people including five children, overturned upon impact, leaving several others injured.

The crash occurred around 2:25 a.m. as the family was returning to Gurgaon from Agra after attending a relative's wedding. They work in the National Capital Region city selling incense sticks.

Pitarpal, one of the injured passengers, said the auto had slowed down suddenly due to a speed breaker when the truck hit it from behind. “There were 14 people in the vehicle. As the driver braked, a truck rammed us from behind and the auto overturned. Three people seated in front died. Those sitting behind were injured. My sister-in-law also died in the accident. The truck driver fled with the vehicle,” he added.
