Two Motorcycle Accidents in Pune Claim Two Lives

A tragic motorcycle accident in the early hours of Tuesday claimed the life of a 33-year-old official working with a private finance company in Pune. The incident occurred when his motorcycle collided with a BRTS bus stop at Pimple Saudagar. The Sangvi police have identified the deceased as Sanket Gunjkar, a resident of Paud Road, Kothrud.

Details of the Accident

According to an officer from the Sangvi police, the accident took place around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday. Gunjkar was travelling towards Kokane Chowk from Nashik Phata. While driving through the BRTS route, he lost control of his motorcycle and hit the wall of the bus stop. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Another Fatal Accident in New Sangvi

In a separate incident, a 22-year-old man lost his life after the motorcycle on which he was riding as a pillion with his friend crashed into a road divider at Sudarshan Chowk in New Sangvi. The accident occurred in the early hours of Monday when the two friends were travelling towards Pimpri. The police have identified the deceased as Aman Shaikh, a resident of Vallabhnagar in Pimpri. The rider, also 22 years old, sustained severe injuries in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment.

Police Investigation Underway

The Sangvi police are investigating both accidents to determine the exact causes. Preliminary reports suggest that speeding and loss of control may have contributed to the incidents. Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution, especially during late-night hours, and to adhere to traffic rules to prevent such tragedies.
