Vadodara: In a tragic incident on Tuesday morning, two young men drowned in the Mahi river near Kotna village on the outskirts of Vadodara. They were swept away by strong currents while bathing with friends.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as Jay Joglekar (23) and Krishna Rajput (22). According to police reports, the duo had gone to Kotna, a popular spot near Sindhrot, along with a group of friends. They entered the river to bathe but ventured into deeper waters despite not knowing how to swim.

Incident Details

Police stated that both individuals were caught in a strong current and dragged away, while their friends managed to return to the riverbank safely. Locals alerted authorities, prompting fire brigade teams to reach the spot and launch a search operation.
