Chandigarh: The Haryana Vidhan Sabha has ramped up preparations for the upcoming Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) North India Region Zone-II Conference, scheduled to take place in Chandigarh from June 8 to 10. The event is being organized in coordination with the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
Review Meetings for High-Profile Event
To ensure seamless arrangements, Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan held a series of meetings on Friday with key officials. He met with Lok Sabha Secretariat Director Yumnam Arun Kumar, Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal, and other senior officers at the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat.
Venue Inspections and Arrangements Discussed
Senior officials from both the Lok Sabha and Haryana Vidhan Sabha conducted inspections of the conference venues. Discussions covered various aspects, including guest reception, accommodation, transportation, security, protocol, cultural programs, and media management.
Security and Coordination Measures
During a meeting with DGP Ajay Singhal and Additional DGP Saurabh Singh, it was decided that a gazetted-rank nodal officer would coordinate with the Chandigarh administration and the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat throughout the event. The Haryana Police will present a Guard of Honour to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Comprehensive security arrangements will be implemented at all venues.
Liaison and Logistics
Officials have been directed to deploy liaison officers, escort vehicles, and pilot vehicles. Adequate parking facilities will be ensured for delegates and dignitaries attending the conference.
