The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has finalized logistical arrangements at Gandhi Maidan for the cabinet swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Thursday. Municipal commissioner Yashpal Meena is overseeing the deployment of 300 sanitation workers to maintain the grounds, toilets, and water stations, while an additional 40 workers carried out preliminary cleaning.
Sanitation and Staffing
The administration has formed 50 teams, each led by a sanitation inspector, drawing personnel from the New Capital and Patliputra circles. All staff have been directed to carry identification cards. This extensive deployment ensures that the venue remains clean and well-maintained throughout the event.
Drainage and Water Management
To tackle potential rainfall, the PMC has stationed four super sucker machines inside the grounds and one outside. Drainage arrangements include 83 HP and 10 HP pump sets at Ramgulam Chowk, along with a 22 HP pump, two 10 HP pumps, and four mini-suction machines within the venue. These measures are designed to prevent waterlogging and ensure smooth movement of attendees.
Water Supply and Sanitary Facilities
Drinking water will be supplied through four specialized vehicles, eight tankers, and permanent taps at gates 7 and 10. The site has been equipped with three pink toilets, five specialized cafes, and existing green toilets. These facilities aim to provide comfort and convenience for the thousands of expected guests.
Overall Management
Senior officials said the arrangements are aimed at ensuring smooth management of public utilities and emergency drainage during the event. The PMC's proactive approach underscores its commitment to hosting a seamless ceremony despite the challenges posed by the monsoon season.
