UP Police SI Result 2025 Declared: 12,333 Candidates Shortlisted for Next Phase
UP Police SI Result 2025: 12,333 Shortlisted for DV and PST

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has officially declared the results for the Sub Inspector (SI) recruitment examination. A total of 12,333 candidates have been shortlisted for the next stages of the selection process, which include Document Verification (DV) and Physical Standard Test (PST). These are tentatively scheduled to be conducted in the third week of May 2025. Officials have confirmed that detailed information regarding examination centres, specific dates, and reporting times will be uploaded on the board's official website shortly.

Massive Participation in UP Police SI Examination

The recruitment drive witnessed an overwhelming response from candidates across Uttar Pradesh and other states. According to board officials, a total of 15,75,760 applications were received. Among these, 11,66,386 were male applicants, while 4,09,374 were female candidates. This high volume of applications underscores the intense competition for police service jobs in the state.

Examination Conducted in Multiple Shifts

The written examination was conducted on March 14 and 15, 2025, across four separate shifts at numerous examination centres. To ensure fairness and parity among candidates, the board implemented a normalisation process for marks, as per the provisions outlined in the recruitment rules and the official notification. Candidates were required to secure a minimum of 35% marks in each section of the examination and at least 50% aggregate marks overall to be considered eligible for shortlisting.

Shortlisting Process and Merit List

The board selected the 12,333 candidates based on normalised scores, merit ranking, and reservation provisions applicable in Uttar Pradesh. Approximately 2.7 times the number of advertised vacancies were shortlisted for the next phase. However, all candidates who achieved the same cut-off marks were also included in the merit list, resulting in the final shortlisted figure exceeding the calculated ratio. This is a crucial stage in the recruitment process, as candidates who clear DV and PST will proceed to further stages, including physical efficiency tests, medical examinations, and final merit preparation as per recruitment norms.

How to Check Results

Candidates can access their results by visiting the board's official website and entering their registration number and date of birth in the result portal. The SI recruitment drive is viewed as a major effort by the Uttar Pradesh government to strengthen policing and improve manpower in the state police force, amid growing law-and-order and policing requirements across urban and rural districts.
