Over 1,200 police personnel, including SWAT commandos, have been deployed for the Panchkula Municipal Corporation elections scheduled for next week. The security arrangements are being made to ensure a peaceful and smooth voting process.
Security Measures
The police force will be stationed at various polling booths and sensitive areas across the city. SWAT commandos will be on standby to handle any emergency situations. Additional forces have been deployed in areas that have witnessed violence in the past.
Deployment Details
The deployment includes personnel from the local police, armed police, and specialized units. Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) will also be patrolling the city to maintain law and order. The police have also set up checkpoints to monitor the movement of vehicles and individuals.
Authorities have urged residents to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activity. The elections are being held for 20 wards of the Panchkula Municipal Corporation.
