A tragic incident has been reported from Bengaluru, where the wife of a Karnataka police constable died by suicide at her residence. The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Shwetha, wife of constable Mahesh, who is attached to the city police force.

Incident Details

According to police sources, the incident took place on Thursday evening at the couple's home in the Kamakshipalya area of Bengaluru. Shwetha was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom. Her husband, Mahesh, was on duty at the time of the incident.

Neighbors alerted the police after hearing commotion from the house. A team from the Kamakshipalya police station rushed to the spot, broke open the door, and recovered the body. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Investigation Initiated

The police have registered a case of unnatural death and have initiated an investigation. Preliminary inquiries suggest that Shwetha was under depression for the past few days. However, the exact reason behind the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

Senior police officials visited the spot and recorded statements of family members and neighbors. The body has been sent for postmortem examination to the Victoria Hospital. The couple had been married for five years and did not have any children.

Further investigation is underway. The police are also probing if there was any foul play involved. No suicide note has been recovered from the scene.
