Nearly 450 NCC cadets from institutions across Himachal Pradesh are participating in the 1 HP Air Squadron camp at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur. Superintendent of Police Balbir Thakur addressed the cadets on Thursday, stressing that discipline and physical fitness are essential for success and a healthy life.

During an interactive session, Thakur encouraged the cadets to uphold discipline, patriotism, integrity, and selfless service as core values of an NCC cadet. He urged them to maintain physical fitness, develop leadership qualities, excel academically, and contribute positively to society.
Thakur laid special emphasis on staying away from drugs and supporting the Chief Minister’s vision of a drug-free society. He urged the cadets to become ambassadors of the anti-drug campaign and spread awareness among their families, friends, and communities.
Army recruitment briefing by Colonel Shridhar Rajan
Colonel Shridhar Rajan, Director of the Army Recruiting Office, Hamirpur, briefed the Senior Division cadets on various entry schemes into the Indian Army. He encouraged them to prepare physically, mentally, and academically for a career in the armed forces, highlighting the importance of discipline, integrity, and leadership.
The camp includes cadets from NIT-Hamirpur, IIT-Mandi, and various schools and colleges across the state. According to the SP, the cadets have a crucial role in leading the anti-drug drive in Himachal Pradesh.
