Kangra Bans Aero Sports During President Murmu Visit

The Kangra district administration has imposed a temporary ban on all aero sports and aerial activities in Palampur and Baijnath sub-divisions on April 30 in the wake of President Droupadi Murmu's scheduled visit to Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University in Palampur.

Ban Details

Kangra deputy commissioner Hemraj Bairwa issued the order on Tuesday, prohibiting paragliding, drone flying, hot air ballooning and similar activities from 8 am to 1 pm on April 30. The ban covers the entire airspace over the two sub-divisions during that period.

Security Measures

Officials said the move is aimed at ensuring tight security and maintaining law and order, as several ministers, senior officers and other dignitaries are expected to be present during the visit. The President is scheduled to address a gathering at the university campus.

The order warns that any violation will attract legal action under relevant sections of the law. Local residents and tourists have been advised to cooperate with the authorities.

This is not the first time such restrictions have been imposed during high-profile visits in the state. Similar bans were enforced during previous VIP movements to prevent any security breach.
