In a significant move to promote linguistic diversity, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled a special Urdu publication titled "Khutbat-e-Modi: Lal Qila Ki Faseel Se" in New Delhi. This book is a compilation of the Independence Day addresses delivered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the historic Red Fort between 2014 and 2025.
A Bridge to Urdu-Speaking Citizens
The publication has been brought out by the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), an institution under the Ministry of Education dedicated to preserving and propagating the Urdu language across India. The initiative aims to take the Prime Minister's thoughts on various national issues directly to the Urdu-knowing population.
Speaking at the release event, Minister Pradhan expressed his satisfaction with this meaningful step towards linguistic inclusion. He highlighted that the Prime Minister's speeches from the ramparts of the Red Fort consistently emphasize key initiatives and visions central to the government's agenda.
Core Themes of the Prime Minister's Vision
Pradhan noted that the addresses compiled in the book focus on several transformative themes for New India. These include the principle of Antyodaya (uplifting the last person in the queue), welfare schemes for the poor, the Swachh Bharat mission, the imperative of national unity, and the collective aspirations of 140 crore Indians.
The Minister elaborated that such publications act as a powerful medium to directly connect citizens with the Prime Minister's ideas, developmental priorities, and long-term vision. This enables wider public engagement and fosters informed discourse on the nation's future.
Encouraging Broader Dialogue and Access
Pradhan expressed hope that "Khutbat-e-Modi" would find a place in libraries nationwide. He encouraged students, scholars, and general readers to engage with the book to participate in a broader dialogue about the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
Furthermore, the Minister urged the NCPUL to proactively take up the responsibility of publishing works related to India's rich heritage, culture, lifestyle, and knowledge traditions in the Urdu language. He congratulated the Council for this commendable initiative and extended his best wishes for its future endeavors.
Dr. Shams Iqbal, the Director of NCPUL, stated that by making these historic lectures available in Urdu, the Council is ensuring the Prime Minister's message reaches a wider audience. He believes this effort will go a long way in disseminating the transformational ideas contained within the speeches.
The book not only captures the transformational journey of New India under Prime Minister Modi's leadership but also reaffirms the government's commitment to inclusivity by making key national addresses accessible to Urdu readers across the country.
