A 22-year-old electrician, Aniket Yadav, lost his life on Friday when the roof of a dilapidated structure collapsed on him in the Gadan Khera area under Shahar Kotwali police station limits in Unnao. The incident occurred in the afternoon, leaving the victim buried under debris.

According to reports, Aniket Yadav, son of Sunil Yadav and a resident of Ram Nagar under Kotwali police station, Unnao, was present in the Gadan Khera area when the roof suddenly gave way. He sustained severe injuries as he was trapped under the rubble. Nearby residents immediately rushed to his aid, removing the debris and pulling him out. He was then taken to the district hospital, where doctors examined him and declared him dead upon arrival.
Victim Profile
Family members stated that Aniket worked as an electrician and was the primary breadwinner for his family. He was the middle child among two brothers and one sister. The news of his untimely death plunged his family into deep grief, with his mother and other relatives inconsolable.
Police Response
Upon receiving information, police personnel reached the spot, gathered details from witnesses, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Inspector Kotwali Rajesh Yadav said that the matter is under investigation and further action will be taken based on a written complaint from the family.
Authorities are probing the cause of the collapse, and the local administration has been alerted to assess the safety of other dilapidated structures in the area to prevent such tragedies.
