A 66-year-old man died in a road accident on Monday night after his two-wheeler skidded on sludge accumulated due to rain on the Erangattur-Bhavanisagar state highway near Bhavanisagar in Erode district. The deceased has been identified as Sundaram, a resident of Erangattur Weavers' Colony, falling under the jurisdiction of Bhavanisagar police.
Accident Details
According to a police officer, Sundaram was riding his motorcycle on the state highway when it started raining. The vehicle came in contact with roadside sludge, causing him to lose control. The bike subsequently hit a wire fence and a stone. Sundaram sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.
Police Action
Upon receiving information, Bhavanisagar police reached the scene and sent the body to the government hospital in Sathyamangalam for an autopsy. A case has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing.
