Man Killed by Train in Varkala, Kerala

A 66-year-old man was killed after being hit by a train near Ayanthi Bridge in Varkala on Friday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Vijayakumar of Nedumkanda, Varkala. According to police, he was attempting to cross the railway track when a train heading towards Thiruvananthapuram struck him near the bridge.

Incident Details

Vijayakumar had left his residence around noon after informing his family members. The circumstances leading to the incident are currently under investigation. Local residents and authorities reached the spot following the accident. The body was later shifted to the medical college hospital for postmortem examination.
