Hazaribag: The body of a 50-year-old man, who had been missing since Monday, was recovered from a river between Chorka bridge and Chhavania under Barkagaon police station limits of the district on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Riyaz Ansari, a resident of Kanki Dadi village.
Missing Person Case
When Riyaz did not return after leaving the house on Monday evening, his son Mohammad Ziauddin lodged a missing diary at Dadikala police outpost (OP) on Tuesday. The family had been searching for him since then.
Recovery of Body
On Wednesday morning, locals spotted a body floating in the river and immediately informed the police. The police reached the spot and retrieved the body. The family members were called to identify the body.
“The family members have identified the body of Riyaz and did not allege foul play against anyone,” said Sagen Murmu, officer in-charge of Dadikala OP. The police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to his death.
The incident has left the village in shock. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
