Chennai: The Tambaram city police have announced traffic diversions for heavy vehicles on April 26 and 27 within Tambaram limits to manage the increased vehicular movement as voters return to the city after casting their votes in the assembly elections.
Traffic Diversion Plan
According to the traffic plan, heavy vehicles travelling from Chengalpet towards Chennai will be diverted via Kancheepuram Road, Walajabad, Kancheepuram, and Sriperumbudur before merging with the Bengaluru National Highway. Vehicles coming from Singaperumal Koil will be redirected through Oragadam and Sriperumbudur.
Alternate Routes for Motorists
Motorists travelling from Puducherry, Cuddalore, and Nagapattinam are advised to use the East Coast Road and Old Mahabalipuram Road to avoid congestion on the main highways. These measures are intended to ensure smooth traffic flow during the post-election period.
Authorities urge all heavy vehicle drivers to follow the diversions and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed at key junctions. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra travel time.
