Two Killed as Speeding Dumper Hits Motorcycle on Highway

A tragic accident on the Jaipur-Delhi highway near Daulatpura bridge claimed the lives of two men late Monday night. The victims were riding a motorcycle when an overspeeding dumper truck struck them from behind, crushing them to death. A third rider narrowly escaped with minor injuries after being thrown from the vehicle.

Details of the Incident

The accident occurred around 1 am on Tuesday. Three men from Raisar village in Jamwa Ramgarh were returning to their village after purchasing iron rods in Jaipur for construction work at their homes. They stopped near the divider on the highway, waiting to cross the road, when the speeding dumper hit their motorcycle.

The deceased have been identified as Mahesh Kumar Gurjar (33) and his neighbor Kailash Yogi (40). Mahesh’s brother, Mukesh, who was seated at the rear, survived the crash. According to police, the dumper truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, and the rear wheels of the truck ran over Mahesh and Kailash.

CCTV Footage and Rescue

CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the truck hitting the bike and speeding away. Police officials stated that Mukesh pleaded for help beside the injured men, but passing vehicles did not stop for several minutes. Eventually, a toll ambulance arrived and shifted the victims to Kanwatia Hospital, where Kailash was declared dead on arrival, and Mahesh succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Police Investigation

Police have registered a case and launched a search for the absconding dumper driver. The incident highlights the dangers of overspeeding on highways and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic rules.
