Two Missing Minors Found Dead in Lakhota Lake

Rajkot: The bodies of two minors who had gone missing on Wednesday were recovered from Lakhota Lake on Thursday, police said. The deceased were identified as Jenish Nanda (13) and Harshil Dangar (11), residents of the Kisan Chowk area.

Sequence of Events

According to police, the two friends had left their homes around 1pm on Wednesday to play but did not return, following which their families began searching for them. Their bodies were spotted in the lake on Thursday morning, and the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation fire department was alerted. A team reached the spot and retrieved the bodies, while a 108 emergency team declared them dead.

Victim Details

Police inspector Vipulsinh Dodiya of Jamnagar City A Division said Jenish was a Class 8 student and Harshil was in Class 6. He added, "Preliminary investigation suggests the boys may have accidentally drowned after reaching the lake."
