Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh finance minister and district in-charge minister Suresh Khanna, along with mayor Sushma Kharakwal, on Thursday conducted an inspection of four wards under the Lucknow Municipal Corporation’s Zone-4. During the visit, they directed officials to remove encroachments, clean vacant plots, improve parking arrangements, and complete an ongoing drain project by June 19.
Wards Covered in Inspection
The inspection covered the Khargapur Saraswan, Bharwara-Malhaur, Chinhat, and Rajiv Gandhi wards. In the Khargapur Saraswan ward, Khanna reviewed the construction of a drain near Sankat Mochan Gate in Gomti Nagar Extension and instructed officials to ensure its completion within the stipulated deadline.
Specific Directives Given
At the Bharwara-Malhaur ward, officials were directed to clean a vacant plot located on STP-Amity Road. During the visit to the Chinhat ward, the minister instructed officials to remove encroachments from the market area near Chinhat Crossing and create additional parking space to improve traffic movement.
Khanna emphasized that civic services related to sanitation, drainage, and traffic management should be monitored closely. He directed officials to complete all development works on time. Municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar and other senior officials were present during the inspection.
