A 28-year-old worker died under suspicious circumstances in Jalandhar, prompting his family to stage a protest demanding a thorough investigation. The incident occurred late Wednesday night in the industrial area of the city.
Details of the Incident
The deceased, identified as Ravi Kumar, a native of Bihar, was employed at a local factory. According to the family, Ravi had left for work as usual but did not return home. Later, they received information that he had been found unconscious near the factory premises. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The family alleges that Ravi was murdered and his death was not accidental. They claim that he had no prior health issues and suspect foul play. The factory owner, however, maintains that Ravi might have suffered a heart attack due to overwork.
Family's Protest
On Thursday morning, the family along with fellow workers and local residents gathered outside the factory, blocking the road and demanding justice. They raised slogans against the factory management and urged the police to register a case of murder. The protesters also demanded compensation and a job for a family member.
The police reached the spot and pacified the protesters after assuring them of a fair investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and further action will be taken based on the report.
