Yogi Adityanath Directs Quality Police Housing Projects Across UP

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed officials to ensure that no compromise is made on the quality and timely execution of police housing and infrastructure projects across the state.

Review of Police Housing Corporation

Reviewing the functioning of the Uttar Pradesh Police Housing Corporation, the Chief Minister emphasized that better residential and workplace facilities are essential to improve the efficiency and morale of police personnel. He instructed officials to complete the construction of police lines, police stations, barracks, fire stations, and other infrastructure projects within stipulated timelines while strictly adhering to technical and quality standards.

Focus on Modern Policing

Emphasizing the importance of robust infrastructure for modern policing, the Chief Minister said all projects must be developed with durability, safety, and utility in mind. During the meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that the Police Housing Corporation is currently executing projects in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Project Details

A total of 233 construction projects are being carried out through six construction units, out of which 221 projects are progressing within the prescribed timeline. Officials further stated that between 2023 and May 20, 2026, the corporation completed 1,586 construction projects worth approximately Rs 1,104 crore. These include multi-storey barracks, transit hostels, police station buildings, fire stations, police outposts, GRP barracks, ATS field units, and projects related to Mahakumbh-2025 preparations. Infrastructure upgrades such as women's washroom facilities in police stations have also been undertaken.

Financial Performance

The meeting was also informed that the corporation has remained profitable and has earned a profit of Rs 11.14 crore so far in the financial year 2025-26.

Quality Assurance Measures

To ensure construction quality, systems such as third-party inspections, material testing, and mobile app-based real-time monitoring have been implemented. The Chief Minister directed officials to conduct regular monitoring of all projects and seek assistance from technical experts wherever required. He also instructed that additional manpower be deployed if necessary to ensure timely completion of projects.

Accountability and Transparency

Highlighting accountability and transparency, Yogi directed that all projects should undergo periodic third-party audits through reputed institutions. He further instructed officials to regularly review ongoing works and develop modern, secure, and functional infrastructure in line with the evolving needs of the police force. The Chief Minister also directed that all vacant posts in the corporation should be filled strictly on the basis of merit.
