Major IPS Reshuffle in Hyderabad: 20 Officers Transferred Across 4 Commissionerates
20 IPS Officers Transferred in Hyderabad Police Reshuffle

In a significant administrative overhaul, the Telangana government has ordered the transfer and posting of 20 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the four police commissionerates of Hyderabad. This move comes in the wake of the recent creation of the new Future City police commissionerate and a reorganisation of policing zones in the state capital.

Key Appointments in Hyderabad Commissionerate

The reshuffle, mandated by Government Order (GO) No. 38 issued by the General Administration Department on Wednesday, has seen several high-level changes. In the Hyderabad commissionerate, Tafseer Iqbal, who was serving as Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), has been appointed as Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) for the South Range. This range oversees the Shamshabad, Golconda, Rajendranagar, and Charminar zones.

N Swetha, previously the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the Detective Department, has been promoted and posted as Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) for the North Range. She will now be responsible for the Jubilee Hills, Khairatabad, and Secunderabad zones. Furthermore, SM Vijay Kumar, the Commissioner of Police for Siddipet, has been transferred to Hyderabad and posted as Joint Commissioner of Police for the Special Branch.

DCP-Level Transfers Across All Units

A series of transfers at the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) level were also part of the major reshuffle. The changes are as follows:

  • Hyderabad Commissionerate: Rakshitha K Murthy (DCP, Secunderabad zone); Khare Kiran Prabhakar (DCP, Charminar zone); K Shilpavalli (DCP, Khairatabad zone); S Sreenivas (DCP, Rajendranagar zone); G Chandra Mohan (DCP, Golconda zone); A Ramana Reddy (DCP, Jubilee Hills zone). B Rajesh was retained as DCP for Shamshabad zone.
  • Cyberabad Commissionerate: N Koti Reddy (DCP, Qutubullapur zone); Ritiraj (DCP, Kukatpally zone); Ch Srinivas (DCP, Serilingampally zone).
  • Future City Commissionerate: K Narayana Reddy (DCP, Maheshwaram zone); Yogesh Goutam (DCP, Chevella zone); Ch Sirisha (DCP, Shadnagar zone).
  • Malkajgiri Commissionerate: K Suresh Kumar (DCP, Uppal zone); B Anuradha (DCP, LB Nagar zone); Ch Sridhar (DCP, Malkajgiri zone).

Officer Moved Out of the City

The only officer moved out of Hyderabad city was Sadhana Rashmi Perumal. She served as the DCP for the North Zone in Hyderabad and has now been posted as the Commissioner of Police for Siddipet. This posting fills the vacancy created by the transfer of SM Vijay Kumar to Hyderabad.

This extensive reshuffle is expected to bring fresh perspectives and strengthen the administrative framework of the Hyderabad police force. It aligns with the state government's strategy to optimise policing resources following the expansion of the capital's police jurisdiction with the new Future City commissionerate.
