Bag with Rs 5 Lakh Jewellery Left at Bengaluru Station, Returned

Incident at Krishnarajapuram Railway Station

On Wednesday afternoon, Vijay Kumar, 32, saw off his wife at Krishnarajapuram railway station in Bengaluru, believing everything was fine. However, his wife, who boarded the MGR Chennai Central-Sainagar Shirdi Superfast Express, inadvertently left behind a trolley bag containing jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh at the station.

Discovery and Recovery

The train departed Krishnarajapuram at 3:55 PM heading towards Yelahanka. About 30 minutes later, Vijay's wife realized she had left the bag on the platform and informed her husband. Vijay immediately returned to the station. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel spotted the blue bag on a bench during an inspection of platform number 4. The team alerted the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and conducted security checks. The bag was then taken to the RPF office for safekeeping.

Return of Belongings

Vijay's wife requested that the bag be handed over to her husband. At 8 PM, Vijay arrived at the RPF office from his residence in MEG Layout and provided details about the bag. His identity and claim were verified and confirmed by his wife through a phone call. The bag contained clothes, two gold chains weighing 35 grams, and a pair of gold earrings.
