Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary Launches Major Development Projects in Mokama
In a significant move to boost infrastructure and economic growth, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday laid the foundation stone for a commercial building construction scheme valued at Rs 18.11 crore. The ceremony was conducted through video conferencing, targeting the Parshuram Sthan premises within the Mokama Nagar Parishad area of Patna district. Simultaneously, the Chief Minister inaugurated the annual Parshuram Mela, a key cultural and religious event in the region.
Focus on Regional Development and Industrial Expansion
Addressing the gathering at the event, CM Choudhary highlighted the substantial contributions of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to the Mokama region. He recalled his personal involvement, stating, "In 2025, when I served as Deputy CM, I personally inspected this mela premises." Emphasizing the need for progress, he added, "Efforts must be directed towards expanding the mela and enhancing facilities for devotees to ensure a better experience."
Choudhary underscored Mokama's strategic importance, noting that multiple development initiatives are underway. He revealed that he has instructed the District Magistrate to identify suitable land for establishing heavy industries in the area. "There is immense potential for heavy industry development here. We need to locate affordable land, acquire it, and formulate a comprehensive framework to attract industrial investments," the Chief Minister asserted.
Collaborative Efforts for Bihar's Prosperity
The Chief Minister also reflected on the collaborative efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar, which led to the creation of critical infrastructure such as bridges, four-lane roads, and various civic amenities in Mokama. "Unity and collective action are essential to drive Bihar towards greater prosperity," Choudhary remarked, urging all stakeholders to work together.
In response to requests from Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan, also known as Lalan Singh, and Mokama MLA Anant Kumar Singh, Choudhary addressed the need for improved healthcare services. He assured that the government is committed to upgrading Mokama Hospital, stating, "Enhancing this hospital is a shared goal, and we will take concrete steps to achieve it."
The event saw participation from key dignitaries, including Union Minister Lalan Singh and Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, who also addressed the audience.
Post-Event Engagements and Future Outlook
Later in the evening, Chief Minister Choudhary paid a courtesy visit to Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav at his residence in Patna City. During the meeting, Choudhary presented a bouquet to the Governor, who extended his congratulations and best wishes on Choudhary's appointment as the new Chief Minister of Bihar.
