Bihar Deputy CM Vows Action in NEET Aspirant Death Case

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has personally intervened in the tragic death case of a young NEET aspirant from Jehanabad. He has promised a swift and comprehensive investigation into the incident that has shocked the state.

Special Investigation Team Formed

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Choudhary confirmed that police authorities have already established a special investigation team to probe the circumstances surrounding the student's death. He emphasized that the Director General of Police himself is directly monitoring the investigation progress.

"Those involved in her death will not be spared," Choudhary declared firmly, according to PTI reports. The deputy chief minister assured the public that justice would be served without any compromise.

Tragic Details Emerge

The victim was an 18-year-old medical entrance examination aspirant who had been staying at a private girls' hostel in Patna's Chitragupt Nagar area. She was preparing intensively for the NEET examination when tragedy struck.

Authorities found the young woman unconscious in her hostel room. Despite being rushed to medical facilities and battling for her life in a coma for several days, she ultimately succumbed on January 11.

Conflicting Medical Reports

The post-mortem examination report has created significant controversy. Medical authorities stated that "sexual violence cannot be ruled out" in their findings. This statement directly contradicts earlier police assertions.

Patna police had previously maintained that medical reports and CCTV footage examination revealed no signs of sexual assault. In an official statement dated January 13, police officials claimed doctors found the student had consumed a large quantity of sleeping pills and was suffering from typhoid at the time of her death.

Family Alleges Systematic Cover-Up

The victim's family has come forward with serious allegations against multiple authorities. They claim the young woman was sexually assaulted and that various officials are attempting to conceal the truth.

On Sunday, family members demanded immediate action against several individuals they believe are complicit in the alleged cover-up. Their list includes:

  • The hostel warden
  • Attending doctors
  • Certain police personnel

The aspirant's father spoke emotionally to reporters about their ordeal. "The hostel warden, doctors and certain policemen are hand-in-glove," he alleged. "Action must be taken against them."

He further revealed disturbing details about pressure tactics employed against the grieving family. According to his account, hostel authorities offered monetary compensation in exchange for dropping the case. Simultaneously, police personnel allegedly threatened family members against speaking to media representatives.

Public Outrage and Arrest

The case has sparked massive public protests across Patna, with citizens demanding justice for the young student. The intensity of public anger led to the arrest of the girls' hostel owner shortly after protests began.

Community members and student organizations have joined the victim's family in calling for a transparent investigation. They insist that all aspects of the case must be examined thoroughly, particularly the conflicting medical reports and allegations of institutional pressure.

As the special investigation team begins its work under direct supervision from the highest police authorities, all eyes remain on Bihar's handling of this sensitive case. The deputy chief minister's personal assurance has raised hopes for justice, but the family continues to wait for concrete action against those they hold responsible.
