Bihar Leaders Pay Homage to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on Samarpan Diwas
In a solemn ceremony in Patna, Legislative Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar led tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and pioneer of the Antyodaya philosophy, on his death anniversary, observed as 'Samarpan Diwas'. The event underscored the enduring legacy of Upadhyaya's vision in contemporary governance and social welfare.
Political Leaders Unite in Tribute
Prominent BJP leaders joined Speaker Prem Kumar in honoring Upadhyaya's memory. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi, general secretary (organisation) Bhikhubhai Dalsania, and regional organisation general secretary Nagendra Nath Tripathi were among those who paid their respects. They garlanded Upadhyaya's statue at the BJP state office in Patna, symbolizing their commitment to his ideals.
The gathering highlighted the cross-party respect for Upadhyaya's contributions, with Speaker Kumar emphasizing that his life was wholly dedicated to the nation and society. "Pandit Deendayal's entire existence was a testament to selfless service, and his principles continue to inspire us today," Kumar remarked during the ceremony.
Antyodaya and Ekatm Manavvad: Foundations of Policy
Speaker Kumar elaborated on Upadhyaya's core philosophies, noting that the Antyodaya vision—focused on uplifting the last person in society—remains a cornerstone of policy and governance. "His concept of 'Ekatm Manavvad' is not just a political theory but a holistic approach to development rooted in Indian culture and life values," he stated. This philosophy advocates for integrated humanism, promoting social harmony and self-reliance.
Kumar further explained that Upadhyaya believed true progress is incomplete unless development benefits reach every individual, especially the marginalized. "In today's context, embracing his principles means prioritizing service, dedication, and national interest above all," he added, urging attendees to reflect on Upadhyaya's teachings.
Samarpan Diwas: A Call to Action
The observance of Samarpan Diwas served as a platform for leaders to renew their pledge to Upadhyaya's dream India. Kumar emphasized that this day offers an opportunity to commit to building a nation based on social harmony, self-reliance, and good governance. "By following his path, we can contribute meaningfully to realizing the India he envisioned," he said, calling for collective effort in upholding these values.
The event in Patna not only commemorated Upadhyaya's death anniversary but also reinforced the relevance of his ideologies in addressing contemporary challenges. Leaders expressed hope that his legacy would continue to guide future policies and inspire public service across Bihar and beyond.
