BJP MLA Narayan Kuche Denies Audio Clip Alleging Money Distribution During Civic Polls
In a significant development from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, BJP MLA Narayan Kuche has vehemently denied allegations stemming from an audio clip that purportedly captures him discussing the distribution of money during police bandobast for the January 15 civic polls. On Thursday, Kuche labeled the audio as "fabricated" and part of a "conspiracy" aimed at framing him, asserting his readiness to approach law enforcement to take action against those attempting to defame his reputation.
Details of the Controversial Audio Clip
The audio clip, which has been circulating widely on social media platforms, is linked to a purported conversation between Kuche and VBA activist Ajay Mhaske. In the recording, Mhaske can be heard urging Kuche to at least delay the distribution of money until after dark. However, the BJP MLA allegedly responded by stating, "The poor and needy should see the currency notes. Let it take place in the daylight."
Further, Kuche is alleged to have added, "I have asked for one police vehicle with a PI (police inspector) and 7 to 8 police personnel. I will distribute the money in a police bandobast." The clip concludes with Kuche instructing Mhaske not to obstruct the money distribution process, intensifying the controversy surrounding the civic elections.
Kuche's Firm Denial and Political Context
Following the widespread dissemination of the audio, Kuche issued a strong denial on Thursday, refuting all charges of money distribution. He emphasized, "The audio clip is fabricated and a conspiracy to frame me. My sister won on the agenda of development. I am going to take police action against those who are defaming me." This statement comes in the wake of his sister, Gangabai Bhaware, securing victory from Ward 24 in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation election. She defeated the VBA candidate by a margin of 769 votes, a result that Kuche attributes to developmental efforts rather than any illicit activities.
Reaction from VBA Activist Ajay Mhaske
In response to the allegations, VBA activist Ajay Mhaske has expressed his willingness to cooperate with any inquiry. Mhaske stated, "Since I am in touch with Kuche, I called him and objected to the money distribution in broad daylight. Kuche was personally engaged in the money distribution in lane number 13. We have already raised complaints about rigged elections for Ward 24." His comments add another layer to the ongoing dispute, highlighting tensions between political factions in the region.
The situation underscores the heightened scrutiny and allegations that often accompany electoral processes in India, with both sides presenting conflicting narratives. As the controversy unfolds, it remains to be seen how authorities will address the claims and counterclaims, potentially impacting the political landscape in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
