BJP-TMC Clash in Howrah: Police Lathi Charge Amid Tension

Tensions escalated in West Bengal on April 27, just two days before the second phase of polling scheduled for April 29. Clashes were reported from Howrah and Haroa, prompting police intervention.

Howrah Clash

In Howrah, a roadshow led by BJP MP Ravi Kishan turned violent when rival groups began exchanging slogans. The confrontation quickly escalated into a scuffle between supporters of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Central forces deployed in the area carried out a baton charge to disperse the crowd and restore order.

Haroa Incident

Meanwhile, in Haroa, a police sub-inspector was injured while attempting to separate TMC and Indian Secular Front (ISF) supporters. The dispute reportedly stemmed from a roadshow-related issue. The injured officer was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
