Andhra Pradesh: CM Naidu's Personal Touch Brings New Life to Cobbler's Family
In a powerful demonstration of how targeted government action can uplift marginalized communities, the family of Sanamandra Posibabu in East Godavari district has become a living testament to the transformative impact of compassionate leadership and administrative efficiency under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
A Fateful Encounter During Pension Distribution
Recalling the pivotal moment that changed his life, Posibabu described how on July 1, 2025, when the chief minister visited Malakapalli village in Tallapudi mandal for the distribution of NTR Bharosa pensions, officials called him to receive his entitlement. As he was away at a nearby shop, Chief Minister Naidu personally halted his convoy, summoned Posibabu, and ensured he was respectfully escorted to his home.
"The chief minister treated a humble drum artist and cobbler like me with utmost dignity. I will never forget that moment in my life," Posibabu said emotionally.
Immediate Action and Comprehensive Support
Deeply moved by the poor condition of Posibabu's dwelling, Chief Minister Naidu immediately directed officials to rebuild the house entirely. He also suggested providing sustainable livelihood support by establishing a footwear shop for the family.
Following the chief minister's explicit directions, officials from multiple departments including housing, DWMA, mines, and the SC corporation coordinated seamlessly to deliver comprehensive assistance. Kovvur MLA Muppidi Venkateswara Rao extended additional guidance and support to ensure the family's needs were fully addressed.
Complete Housing Transformation
According to housing department project director Nathi Bujji, the incomplete house was fully reconstructed as per assurances given by present district collector Keerthi Chekuri. The extensive renovation works included:
- Construction of compound walls and side walls for stairs
- Complete plastering, tiling, and painting
- Installation of cupboards and toilet construction
- Fencing and comprehensive land levelling
These improvements were executed at an additional cost of approximately Rs 2.5 lakh beyond regular housing scheme allocations, demonstrating the administration's commitment to going beyond standard protocols.
Livelihood Support and New Beginnings
Further strengthening the family's economic foundation, financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh was extended through the SC Corporation to establish sustainable livelihood opportunities. The total assistance package worth Rs 3.5 lakh was formally handed over to the family during Ugadi celebrations, symbolizing a fresh start and renewed hope.
"This feels like a new life for me. I am deeply grateful to Chief Minister Naidu, district collectors Prasanthi and Keerthi Chekuri, and every official who supported us," Posibabu expressed, his voice filled with gratitude and joy.
Seamless Administrative Coordination
The assistance initiative, which began during the tenure of then district collector Prasanthi, continued without interruption under current district administration, resulting in significant improvement in the family's living conditions. The coordinated effort across multiple government departments showcases how effective governance can translate political will into tangible social impact.
The Posibabu family, belonging to a modest socioeconomic background, expressed overwhelming happiness as the assurances given by the chief minister were completely fulfilled, bringing unprecedented stability and optimism into their daily lives.
