Congress MLA Geeta Bhukkal on Wednesday urged Chief Minister Nayab Saini not to neglect Haryana at the expense of other states. Speaking during the ongoing budget session of the Haryana Assembly, Bhukkal accused the state government of prioritizing development projects outside Haryana while ignoring local needs.
Bhukkal's Criticism of State Government
Bhukkal, representing the Dadri assembly constituency, said that the state administration has been diverting resources and attention to other regions, leaving Haryana's own infrastructure, employment, and welfare schemes in a poor state. She demanded that the government focus on solving issues like unemployment, inadequate healthcare facilities, and poor road conditions in rural areas.
The Congress MLA also questioned the government's expenditure on events and projects in other states, arguing that the same funds could have been used for the benefit of Haryana's citizens. She called for a detailed audit of such expenses and a clear policy to ensure that Haryana's interests are not compromised.
Response from the Ruling Party
In response, Chief Minister Nayab Saini dismissed the allegations, stating that the government is equally committed to the development of all states under the cooperative federalism framework. He assured that Haryana's development remains a top priority and that the state has seen significant progress in various sectors under his leadership.
Saini also highlighted recent initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana and the increase in MSP for crops, claiming that these measures have directly benefited the people of Haryana.
The exchange of words between the Congress MLA and the Chief Minister reflects the ongoing political tensions in the state, with the opposition accusing the government of neglecting local issues while the ruling party defends its record.
