BJP Achieves Remarkable Feat in Prabhag 1

While Congress dominated the overall numbers, the BJP also shared the honours through a unique accomplishment. In Prabhag 1, all four sitting corporators from the BJP managed to retain their seats. This marked the only prabhag in the entire city where the BJP fielded every one of its incumbent corporators.

These four BJP victories accounted for the party's total of five seats won in the zone. The successful candidates from Prabhag 1 include:

  • Mahendra Dhanvijay (BJP, 1A)
  • Sushma Chaudhary (BJP, 1B)
  • Pramila Mathrani (BJP, 1C)
  • Vicky Kukreja (BJP, 1D)

Congress Secures Strong Mandate Across Multiple Prabhags

The Mangalwari zone encompasses prabhags 1, 9, 10, and 11. Congress demonstrated its strength across three of these prabhags with convincing wins.

In Prabhag 9, Congress candidates swept all four seats:

  • Vivek Nikose (Cong, 9A)
  • Pragati Yadav (Cong, 9B)
  • Marystella Usre (Cong, 9C)

  • Seema Davre (Cong, 10C)

  • Manjusha Chacharkar (Cong, 11A)
  • Snehal Thakare (Cong, 11B)
  • Shailesh Pande (Cong, 11D)

The BJP managed to win one seat in this prabhag through Mamta Thakur (BJP, 11C).
