The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for the 'Janjati Saanskritik Samagam' scheduled to take place at the Red Fort on Sunday. The event, organized by Janjati Jaagriti Samiti, is expected to draw nearly one lakh participants, leading to significant restrictions and diversions across central and north Delhi.
Event Details and Processions
The Samagam features multiple 'Shobha Yatras' that will commence from several key locations: Shyamgiri Mandir, Ramlila Maidan, Rajghat, Qudesia Park, and Ajmeri Gate. These processions will converge at the Red Fort, causing considerable disruption to vehicular traffic in the affected areas.
Traffic Restrictions and Diversions
Commuters are strongly advised to avoid non-essential travel on the affected routes. Traffic restrictions will be in place from noon onwards on key stretches, including:
- GT Karnal Road
- Boulevard Road
- Sham Nath Marg
- Lothian Road
- Netaji Subhash Marg
- Jawaharlal Nehru Marg
- Asaf Ali Road
- Nishad Raj Marg
Specifically, traffic movement on Netaji Subhash Marg from Delhi Gate Chowk to Chhatta Rail on both carriageways will remain closed from 12 pm to 3 am. Additionally, restrictions on Nishad Raj Marg will be in force until 3 am.

Police have advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance and use alternate routes to avoid delays. The large processions and gathering of participants are expected to significantly impact vehicular movement in several areas of central and north Delhi.
