Dhanbad police continued extensive raids throughout the day on Thursday, targeting several suspected hideouts in an effort to arrest Hiralal Mahto, the absconding Ajsu-P leader and prime accused in the violent clash and firing incident at Bansjora. The incident occurred on Wednesday under the jurisdiction of the Loyabad police station.
Background of the Incident
Mahto has been named as the primary accused in the violence that erupted in the Bansjora area, which authorities believe was triggered by a dispute over supremacy related to illegal coal activities. The clash escalated rapidly, leading to a firing that resulted in the death of 58-year-old Kishan Rawani, who succumbed to bullet injuries. Additionally, nearly half a dozen other individuals sustained injuries during the confrontation.
Ongoing Police Operations
Police teams have been conducting coordinated searches across multiple locations, including rural and urban areas, to track down Mahto. Officials have stated that the raids will continue until the accused is apprehended. The police have also increased vigilance in the region to prevent any further escalation of violence.
The deceased, Kishan Rawani, was a local resident, and his family has been informed about the incident. The injured individuals are receiving medical treatment at nearby hospitals, and their conditions are reported to be stable. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating the matter thoroughly.
