Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi Lauds APCC Chief Bhupen Borah as Party Asset in Guwahati Meeting

In a significant development within the Assam Congress unit, MP Gaurav Gogoi on Monday publicly commended APCC president Bhupen Kumar Borah, describing him as a "strong Congress leader" and an "asset" to the party. Speaking to reporters in Guwahati, Gaurav Gogoi revealed that senior party leaders engaged in extensive discussions with Bhupen Borah for nearly three hours. "We held discussions with Bhupen Kumar Borah for the last three hours. He is a strong Congress leader. If any wrong was done, as a brother, I apologise to him," Gogoi stated, emphasizing the collaborative effort to mend any rifts.

He further highlighted Borah's role, noting, "Bhupen Kumar Borah is our asset. He is fighting against evil," underscoring the leader's commitment to the party's values and objectives.

Rahul Gandhi's Involvement in the Talks

Adding to the significance of the meeting, Gaurav Gogoi confirmed that former Congress president Rahul Gandhi also participated in the discussions. "Rahul Gandhi also spoke with Bhupen Kumar Borah," he added, indicating high-level engagement to address the internal matters and reinforce party solidarity.
