Gujarat Police Recruitment Physical Tests Scheduled from January 21
The Gujarat government will conduct physical efficiency tests for police recruitment starting January 21. These tests aim to fill 858 Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) positions and 12,733 Lok Rakshak cadre vacancies across the state.
State authorities will hold the examinations at fifteen different grounds. Male candidates will undergo testing at eleven venues from January 21 through March 13. Female candidates and ex-servicemen will complete their assessments at four locations between January 21 and March 6.

LD Museum Exhibition Showcases Traditional Golu Idols
Ahmedabad's LD Museum presented an exhibition of Golu idols from January 17 to 31. Golu, meaning 'divine presence' in Tamil, represents a South Indian tradition of displaying dolls during festivals.
Curators explained this practice occurs primarily in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. The tradition connects with Navratri and Makar Sankranti celebrations.
Local artisans craft these dolls using diverse materials including clay, wood, terracotta, cloth, and papier mache. The exhibition featured pieces from the collection of Rajeswari and Pankaj Gorana, with Vishwaroopam - depicting Lord Vishnu's cosmic manifestation - as a key attraction.
