Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has taken a firm stance against the growing weapons culture in Una district, directing officials to implement immediate measures to restore peace and security. During his visit on Tuesday, the deputy CM issued clear instructions for eliminating criminal activities that have been troubling local residents.
Strict Action Against Criminal Elements
Mukesh Agnihotri specifically instructed Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal to take decisive action against individuals involved in ransom demands, shootings, and other unlawful activities. The deputy CM emphasized that Una's residents deserve to live in peace and demanded visible improvements in the law and order situation within one week.
Highlighting the state government's commitment to development and public welfare, Agnihotri revealed that CCTV cameras are being installed across the district, including the Haroli constituency. This surveillance infrastructure aims to enhance monitoring capabilities and quickly curb criminal activities through better vigilance.
Major Infrastructure Development in Haroli
During his visit, Agnihotri inaugurated a significant infrastructure project - a 36-metre 'Bow-String RCC Beam Bridge' over Haroli Khad. This engineering marvel was constructed at a cost of Rs 4 crore and completed in under a year, demonstrating the government's focus on timely project execution.
The deputy CM outlined numerous ongoing development initiatives in Haroli, including:
- Eight bridges with a total cost of Rs 126 crore
- Road works worth Rs 85 crore
- A Rs 20 crore road project from Jejon Mod to Tahliwal
- Three new bridges at Barheda, Kangad, and Palakwah
These infrastructure projects are expected to significantly improve connectivity throughout the region, facilitating easier transportation and economic growth.
Water Supply and Industrial Progress
Agnihotri also highlighted important public welfare schemes, including the phase-2 expansion of the Rs 75 crore Beetal Area Irrigation Scheme and a second Rs 100 crore water supply project specifically designed for Haroli. These initiatives aim to address agricultural and drinking water needs in the region.
In a significant development for industrial growth, the Bulk Drug Park in Kolkar has received environmental clearance. The project has moved forward with Rs 350 crore tenders issued for land levelling, marking substantial industrial progress that promises to generate employment opportunities and boost the local economy.
The comprehensive approach combining security measures with developmental initiatives demonstrates the government's strategy to address both immediate safety concerns and long-term prosperity in Una district and surrounding regions.
