Hyderabad Braces for 12 Lakh Vehicles Exodus This Festive Season
Hyderabad: 12 Lakh Vehicles Expected for Festive Exodus

The city of Hyderabad is gearing up for a significant surge in outbound traffic as the festive season approaches. Authorities estimate a staggering 12 lakh vehicles will leave the city, marking a sharp increase from the 9 lakh vehicles recorded during the same period last year.

Government Unveils Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan

Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced that the state government has implemented a series of precautionary measures to prevent major traffic snarls on key highways. The government is taking full responsibility for traffic management and safety protocols up to the borders of Telangana.

To tackle congestion head-on, toll plaza operators have been given clear instructions. Toll gates at locations like the problematic Pantangi plaza will be opened immediately whenever traffic buildup is detected, ensuring a free flow of vehicles during peak travel hours.

Emergency Services on High Alert

A robust emergency response system has been put in place for the safety of commuters. As part of the preparedness plan, ambulances will be stationed at intervals of every 20 kilometres along major routes to provide swift medical aid if needed.

Furthermore, recovery cranes have been strategically deployed to quickly remove any stalled or broken-down vehicles that could cause blockages. A dedicated toll-free helpline number has also been established for travellers to seek assistance or report issues during their journey.

Tech-Driven Monitoring and Public Appeal

In an innovative move, police are employing technology to keep a watchful eye on traffic conditions. Drones are being used to monitor the traffic situation at critical points like Suryapet, providing real-time data to manage flow effectively.

Minister Reddy made a heartfelt appeal to all motorists, urging them to cooperate with authorities and strictly follow the issued traffic advisories. The collective goal is to ensure that every family enjoys a safe and smooth festive journey.
