Panic and alarm spread among residents of the Mayflower Apartment complex in the Begumpet area of Hyderabad on Saturday evening. A sudden and intense fire broke out in Flat No. 208, located on the second floor of the building, causing widespread concern and disruption.
Extensive Damage to Two Residential Units
The fire rapidly engulfed Flat No. 208, completely gutting the interior and destroying all contents. The flames were so severe that they spread upwards to the flat directly above, Flat No. 308 on the third floor. This upper unit suffered partial damage, with fire and smoke affecting sections of the property, though the destruction was less extensive than in the lower flat.
Swift Firefighting Response Prevents Casualties
Fire department personnel rushed to the scene immediately after receiving alerts. They engaged in a strenuous and prolonged effort, battling the fierce flames for over two hours before successfully bringing the fire under control. Inspector P. Saidulu confirmed that no residents were trapped inside the building during the incident. Fortunately, there were no reports of any injuries or fatalities, a relief to all involved.
