Indore Father's Agony as Car Fire Kills 3-Year-Old Son in Tragic Accident
In a heart-wrenching scene at the cremation ground in Indore on Sunday, Sanjay Bahediya repeatedly broke down, clutching the charred remains of his three-and-a-half-year-old son Chirag. His voice faltered under the immense weight of a moment he will likely never forget for the rest of his life. This tragedy unfolded after what began as a simple family outing in a newly purchased pre-owned car ended in a horrific fire that claimed the child's life within minutes in the Simrol area of Indore.
Family Outing Turns Deadly in Simrol
Sanjay, a mechanic by profession and a resident of Ralamandal, had acquired the car just two days prior to the incident. The family had returned late Friday night from a wedding in Dhamnod, and on Saturday morning, he decided to take Chirag out for a ride in the vehicle, completely unaware that it would become the child's final journey. In the Simrol area along the Indore-Ichhapur Road, a friend contacted Sanjay to repair a DJ vehicle. He parked the car by the roadside, leaving Chirag seated inside with a window slightly open, and walked a short distance to inspect the other vehicle.
Rapid Blaze and Explosion Engulf Car
Within moments, smoke began rising from the parked car. Eyewitnesses reported that the smoke quickly intensified into flames, followed by a loud explosion. The blast first originated from the battery and then the AC compressor, transforming the vehicle into a raging fireball. The blaze spread with such ferocity that within 10 to 15 minutes, the car was completely gutted, leaving nothing but ashes and devastation.
Father's Desperate Attempts to Save Son
Hearing the explosion, Sanjay rushed back towards the car, only to find it engulfed in flames with his son trapped inside. Bystanders nearby hurried to assist, throwing water and sand in a frantic effort to douse the fire and break the windows. However, the intensity of the inferno made it impossible for anyone to get close enough to rescue the child. In a desperate and heart-rending attempt, Sanjay tried to leap into the flames, but those around him held him back, forcing him to watch helplessly as the fire consumed the car and his beloved son.
Community in Shock Over Chirag's Death
Chirag's untimely death has sent shockwaves through the entire locality. According to family members, the child was born after eight years of prayers and vows to 'Shiva Baba,' making his loss even more poignant. Sanjay and his wife Meenu, who have been married for 12 years, also have a 10-year-old daughter named Muskan. The family had been preparing to fulfil their religious vow in April, adding to the profound sorrow surrounding this tragedy.
When Chirag's body was brought home after the postmortem examination, grief overwhelmed the neighbourhood, with residents mourning the loss of the young boy. Police officials stated that preliminary findings indicate a possible short circuit as the cause of the fire, though further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable dangers that can arise in everyday situations, leaving families shattered and communities in mourning.
