Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has instructed party cadres to closely monitor the development of the Strategic Industrial Region (SIR) project. He also announced a statewide protest against the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government, accusing it of neglecting key development initiatives.
Call for Vigilance on SIR Project
Speaking at a party meeting, Jagan emphasized the importance of the SIR project, which he claimed was initiated during his tenure. He alleged that the current TDP government under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was deliberately stalling the project to benefit certain corporate interests. "The SIR project is crucial for the industrial growth of Andhra Pradesh. We cannot allow the TDP government to derail it," Jagan said.
Statewide Protest Plans
Jagan directed YSRCP leaders and workers to organize protests across all districts, focusing on the government's failure to implement welfare schemes and infrastructure projects. The protests will begin next week, with a series of rallies and demonstrations planned in major cities. "We will expose the TDP's anti-people policies and demand accountability," he added.
The YSRCP chief also criticized the TDP government for rising unemployment, inflation, and corruption. He urged cadres to remain united and vigilant, ensuring that the SIR project and other initiatives are not compromised.
In response, TDP spokespersons dismissed Jagan's allegations, stating that the government is committed to the state's development. They accused the YSRCP of resorting to protests to divert attention from its own failures during its previous term.
