Karnataka's School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa announced on Friday that the government will commence the recruitment of guest teachers for schools as early as June. Speaking in Shivamogga, he stated that as many as 52,000 guest teachers would be recruited to address the shortage of teaching staff across the state.
Recruitment Drive to Begin in June
The minister emphasized that the recruitment process would start promptly in June, ensuring that schools have adequate faculty before the new academic session gains momentum. This initiative is part of the government's broader effort to improve the quality of education and reduce the student-teacher ratio.
Addressing Teacher Shortage
The decision to hire 52,000 guest teachers comes in response to persistent vacancies in government schools. Many schools have been operating with insufficient staff, affecting students' learning outcomes. The new recruits will be deployed across various districts based on need.
Bangarappa also highlighted that the government is committed to providing quality education and that the recruitment will be conducted transparently. Further details regarding the application process, eligibility criteria, and distribution of teachers will be announced soon.
