Kejriwal Calls for Pledge to End Hooliganism in Gujarat

Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal made a strong appeal during a Regional Booth Worker Conference in Ahmedabad on Sunday. He urged attendees to take a pledge to end hooliganism in Gujarat. Kejriwal described Gujarat as the land of Sardar Patel and Mahatma Gandhi. He emphasized the need for collective action to restore peace and order in the state.

Allegations of Increased Oppression Before Elections

Kejriwal further alleged that government agencies become more active as elections approach. He specifically mentioned the ED, CBI, and police. The former Delhi Chief Minister warned that oppression and repression will increase in the coming years. He noted that there are still two years left until the next elections. Kejriwal predicted a rise in such activities as the election date draws closer.

The AAP national convener is currently on a three-day visit to Gujarat. His comments come amid growing political tensions in the state.

AAP MLA Accuses BJP of Event Sabotage

Earlier, AAP MLA Gopal Italia made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party. Italia claimed that the BJP obstructed a scheduled private event for AAP in Gujarat. He said the BJP threatened the owner of the plot they had booked for the program. This led to the cancellation of the event.

Italia stated that today's program was supposed to be attended by Arvind Kejriwal and several party workers. The AAP had been making extensive efforts to ensure the event's success. They had booked a private party plot and informed the police about the arrangements. Party workers were also notified about the event.

Details of the Alleged Obstruction

Gopal Italia provided details about the alleged interference. He said all their arrangements were in place until last night. Then, the BJP resorted to what he called draconian tactics. According to Italia, BJP members threatened the owner of the venue against renting it to AAP. This forced the cancellation of their interactive program.

Italia shared a copy of the receipt they received after booking the plot as evidence. This receipt supposedly proves that the event was scheduled to take place. The MLA used this to support his claims of BJP interference.

New Venue and Further Accusations

Following the cancellation, Italia announced that a private farmhouse belonging to a party worker has been selected as the new venue. All discussions will now take place at this alternative location. Italia did not provide specific details about the farmhouse's location or owner.

Taking his accusations further, Italia stated that the BJP is resorting to dictatorship in Gujarat. He argued that such actions undermine democratic processes and freedom of assembly. The AAP MLA's comments highlight the ongoing political rivalry between the two parties in the state.

These developments occur as political activities intensify in Gujarat. Both AAP and BJP are preparing for future electoral battles. The allegations and counter-allegations are likely to shape the political discourse in the coming months.
